Inter Milan are reportedly optimistic that Newcastle United will sign Valentino Lazaro on a permanent basis.

The 24-year-old joined Steve Bruce's side on a six-month loan deal with an option to buy in January and has made four Premier League appearances for the Magpies thus far.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Inter are confident that an agreement on a permanent signing will be reached, meaning that they would make a tidy profit on the player whom they signed from Hertha Berlin last summer.

The report also claims that Newcastle and Inter agreed a price of £21.5m should the Premier League side wish to sign the right-back permanently, with Bruce's side paying a £1.35m loan fee for the Austria international in January.

Lazaro's current deal with Antonio Conte's side will expire in 2023.
