Newcastle United are reportedly interested in re-signing Georginio Wijnaldum on loan from Paris Saint-Germain.
The Netherlands international has struggled to settle at the Parc des Princes since arriving on a free transfer in the summer and is already being linked with a move elsewhere.
Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have both been tipped to do battle for the signature of Wijnaldum, who has only started nine Ligue 1 games under Mauricio Pochettino so far this season.
Now, L'Equipe claims that Newcastle are keen to bring Wijnaldum back to St James' Park on a temporary basis, with the midfielder registering 11 goals and five assists in 40 games for the club in the 2015-16 season.
However, the report adds that PSG are not prepared to cut their losses on Wijnaldum after just a few months, especially with Idrissa Gueye soon departing for the Africa Cup of Nations.
Wijnaldum has made 22 appearances across all competitions for PSG this term and boasts three goals and one assist for Les Parisiens.
