Newcastle United are targeting an £8m move for Thomas Ince but will have to move swiftly to fend off interest from Everton, according to a report.

Newcastle United are reportedly targeting an £8m move for Blackpool winger Thomas Ince.

The England Under-21 international rejected a move to Cardiff City earlier this summer despite the clubs having agreed on a similar fee.

According to The Mirror, though, the winger would be more interested in a move to St James' Park.

Magpies boss Alan Pardew wants the club to move quickly, with Everton also among the 21-year-old's admirers.

Everton would need to sell before sanctioning an £8m fee, although Ince is believed to be aware of the interest and Merseyside would be his preferred option.

However, Newcastle already have the funds and Pardew, who is keen on the youngster, has been told that he can spend money this summer.
