Alan Pardew: Additions from Nottingham Forest are a "real coup"

Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew waxes lyrical about his new signings Jamaal Lascelles and Karl Darlow from Nottingham Forest.

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has expressed his delight at the club's success in securing the services of Jamaal Lascelles and Karl Darlow.

The Nottingham Forest duo had been in talks with the Magpies for a number of days, with the moves being confirmed this morning.

Speaking about the pair, who will spend the upcoming season on loan with Forest, Pardew told the club's official website: "It is a real coup to have signed two of the finest young talents in English football outside of the Premier League.

"Jamaal and Karl will be a big part of the future of this club. They have both performed outstandingly in the Championship over the last couple of years and I have no doubt they will be able step up to this level once they return from their loan at Nottingham Forest."

Pardew has now added nine new players to his Newcastle squad this summer.
