Alan Pardew: 'Loic Remy has had chances to join Newcastle United'

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew believes that Queens Park Rangers striker Loic Remy has had his chances to join the club permanently.

Alan Pardew has said that Loic Remy has had "plenty of chances" to move to Newcastle United this summer.

The Queens Park Rangers striker spent last season on loan with the Magpies, but underwent a medical with Liverpool last month before the club withdrew its interest in the Frenchman.

The manager told the Evening Chronicle: "I think he's had plenty of chances to come to us. We made it very clear that we would like to have him and it hasn't really happened and therefore sometimes you have to say 'Where's the line drawn for us as a club?' as we have our own respect and our own professionalism.

"So maybe that one has gone away, but like all transfers they're never, ever over, so we'll keep our finger on the pulse."

QPR manager Harry Redknapp confirmed that Remy will train with the club during their pre-season trip to Ireland.
