Richard Money hails Cambridge United's "character and resolve"

Richard Money expresses his delight at the way that his Cambridge United players recovered from a one-goal deficit to beat AFC Wimbledon.

Richard Money has praised the "character and resolve" that his Cambridge United players showed during their trip to AFC Wimbledon last night.

The travelling U's trailed at the break thanks to a goal from former striker Tom Elliott, but second-half strikes from Leon Legge and Barry Corr secured all three points for Money's men.

Speaking to the club's official website, the Cambridge boss said: "I'm really pleased with the character and resolve shown by the group in the second half.

"They showed a good mentality to ensure that when they came off the pitch at the end of the game they were winners. It was a crucial result for us and a deserved one in the end, albeit we had to hang a little bit in that first period."

The 2-1 win has lifted Cambridge up to fourth in the League Two table.
