Nice midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa has set his sights on earning a place in the France squad for Euro 2016.
The 29-year-old has revived his career in Ligue 1 this season, with only Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Alexandre Lacazette scoring more than Ben Arfa's tally of 17 goals.
His form has seen him emerge as a late contender to be named in Didier Deschamps's squad this summer, and the former Newcastle United man admits that it is an aim of his to represent the host nation.
"When I come to Paris, people congratulate me on the street and tell me I'm going to the Euros, I have to go," he told L'Equipe.
"The idea is to have fun and to be consistent in my performances. I was often criticised for not being. It was important to prove that to myself already. After, the team of France, yes, it is a goal."
Ben Arfa's goals have helped Nice to fourth in the Ligue 1 table, where they are still challenging for the Champions League places.
