Northampton Town sign former Exeter City defender Kevin Amankwaah on a one-year deal.

Northampton Town have completed the signing of former Exeter City defender Kevin Amankwaah on a one-year deal.

The 31-year-old joins the League Two club on a free transfer following his release from St James Park.

"He's got the experience and he knows the league inside out, and the most important thing about him is he's very, very consistent," Northampton boss Aidy Boothroyd told BBC Sport.

The Cobblers will start the new season on Saturday at York City.
