Northampton Town have signed Aston Villa defender Enda Stevens on a one-month emergency loan deal.
The 24-year-old has only made nine Premier League appearances for the Midlands club since joining from Shamrock Rovers on a free transfer in January 2012.
Stevens will help the Cobblers fill the void created at full-back by Evan Horwood being sidelined by tendonitis, and manager Chris Wilder has revealed that he will start in this weekend's League Two match with Burton Albion.
"We've been light in that area and he'll go straight into the team [against Burton]," Wilder told BBC Radio Northampton.
"You don't sign for a club like Villa unless you've got something about you."
Stevens has previously spent loan spells at Notts County and Doncaster Rovers.
