Robert Snodgrass: 'Blame players for Norwich City slump'

Norwich City midfielder Robert Snodgrass urges supporters to blame the players and not manager Chris Hughton for the team's disappointing campaign.

Norwich City midfielder Robert Snodgrass has called on fans to blame the players and not manager Chris Hughton for the team's disappointing season.

The Canaries are currently five points above the relegation zone following Saturday's 1-0 win at home to Hull City.

Despite doubts over Hughton's future at Carrow Road, Snodgrass believes that the squad should take its share of the responsibility.

"It is the players' fault - it is not lack of effort, it is putting the ball in the net and that is the only thing that has been lacking," he told the Eastern Daily Press.

"We have got so much determination and we want to do well, but you need to score - that is what wins the game. It is not through lack of chances or trying."

Norwich continue their Premier League campaign on Tuesday when they entertain Newcastle United.
