Gabriel Jesus vows to remain focused

Palmeiras forward Gabriel Jesus welcomes Barcelona's interest in his services following comments from the Spanish club's president Josep Maria Bartomeu.

Palmeiras forward Gabriel Jesus has welcomed Barcelona's interest in his services, but has vowed to keep his feet on the ground amid the transfer speculation.

On Thursday, Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu all but confirmed that the Spanish champions wanted to sign the 19-year-old, who has scored 18 goals in his last 29 appearances for Palmeiras.

Manchester United, Manchester City, Juventus and Bayern Munich have also all been linked with Gabriel, and the Brazilian has claimed that he is "happy with what's happening".

"I'm happy with what's happening, but I want more, I have goals and I want to meet them. I'm very young and I have to be focused on what I'm doing," Gabriel told Globoesporte. "I'm very well supported by my family, professionals who advise me and my teammates. I'm only thinking about playing, doing the best I can and helping Palmeiras win."

Gabriel has been included in the Brazil squad for the 2016 Olympic Games.
