Peru boss Ricardo Gareca has assured fans that the nation will see out their World Cup campaign on a high note following their elimination from the competition at the hands of France.
Los Incas succumbed to a second successive 1-0 defeat in Russia as Kylian Mbappe's first-half goal at the Ekaterinburg Arena proved the difference between the two sides.
Thursday's result, combined with the loss to Denmark on June 16, means that Peru are yet to pick up a point and will be unable to progress to the last 16.
"We thank the Peruvian fans so much for the great support in Russia," Gareca told reporters at full time.
"We left everything on the field against two very tough opponents. But this does not end here, we are going to close the World Cup with the same attitude."
Peru's final World Cup game will be against Australia in Sochi on June 26.
