Non-league Kidderminster Harriers through to fourth round of FA Cup

Peterborough United are knocked out of the FA Cup by non-league side Kidderminster Harriers.

Non-league minnows Kidderminster Harriers have completed a second-half comeback to knock Peterborough United out of the FA Cup with a 3-2 victory at London Road this evening.

It was the visitors who were first to threaten and it took 15 minutes for that to happen as Lee Fowler saw a right-footed effort scrape wide of the Posh goal.

Harriers man Joe Lolley had an effort on target, which drew a good save from the Peterborough goalkeeper, who had to dive and tip the ball away from his top-right hand corner.

Back came Borough, though, when Shaun Jeffers produced a header that flew just wide of the target.

Posh took the lead with their next attempt, as Tommy Rowe picked up a pass from Daniel Kearns to allow an easy conversion from a few yards out.

The Harriers mounted a fightback straight after the interval as Michael Gash got onto the end of a cross from Danny Jackman to level the scores in the 48th minute.

Kidderminster found themselves 2-1 up a few minutes later when Jack Byrne converted with his left after being picked up by Lolley.

Posh found themselves with a route back into the game when Lee Vaughan brought down Britt Assombalonga in the box, allowing the striker to step up and bring the hosts level in the 74th minute.

However, parity was to last just two minutes as Lolley drilled a standout finish from outside of the area into the bottom corner of the goal to give the visitors a memorable victory.
