Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Yohan Cabaye has claimed that his switch from Newcastle United in January was a "step forward".
The Frenchman joined PSG for around £20m towards the end of the January transfer window, and the former Magpies midfielder said that the move was a justifiable one.
He told Sky Sports News: "I think [coming to Paris] was a step forward for me.
"I have a lot of respect for Newcastle and my old teammates but now I am playing for titles in France and in the Champions League. It is a step forward and I am enjoying it.
"I'll keep going and hopefully I can play a big part."
Cabaye scored his first goal for Laurent Blanc's side as they beat Bayer Leverkusen 4-0 in the Champions League on Tuesday evening.
