Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Paris Saint-Germain could line up for Sunday's Ligue 1 clash with Lyon.

Paris Saint-Germain are sweating over the fitness of Kylian Mbappe for Sunday's Ligue 1 encounter with Lyon at the Parc des Princes.

The attacker had to come off with an ankle issue in Wednesday's 1-1 draw with Club Brugge in the Champions League, where he started as part of a front three with Lionel Messi and Neymar for the first time in navy blue.

Mauricio Pochettino was unable to provide an update on Mbappe's condition after the game, but the Frenchman is not expected to recover in time for this battle, so it would not be unexpected to see Messi deployed through the middle.

The Argentine's spot on the right should be taken by Angel Di Maria - who returns from a European suspension - but Mauro Icardi is another option if Pochettino opts for a more physical presence up top.

Midfield maestro Marco Verratti is still out with a knee problem, but Ander Herrera is deputising extremely well with three goals in his last two games, while Idrissa Gueye should take his place in the engine room after serving a European ban of his own in midweek.

However, Georginio Wijnaldum was hooked at half time against Club Brugge and received criticism for his subpar performance on the day, so Pochettino may be tempted to bring Danilo Pereira back into the team.

Juan Bernat and Colin Dagba are making good progress in their injury recoveries but are not expected to push for starts over Achraf Hakimi and Abdou Diallo, with the latter holding his place at left-back over Nuno Mendes for now.

Marquinhos and Presnel Kimpembe remain unchallenged at the back as Sergio Ramos remains out, while Keylor Navas - in spite of an impressive display against Brugge - may make way for Gianluigi Donnarumma here.

PSG possible starting lineup: Donnarumma; Hakimi, Marquinhos, Kimpembe, Diallo; Herrera, Pereira, Gueye; Di Maria, Messi, Neymar
