Leroy Fer targets Queens Park Rangers return

QPR midfielder Leroy Fer says that he is hoping to play in next weekend's visit of West Ham following a two-month absence with a knee injury.

Queens Park Rangers winger Leroy Fer has earmarked Saturday's visit of West Ham United to make his comeback from injury following a two-month layoff.

The Dutchman, 25, has not played for Rangers since February after suffering knee ligament damage in the 2-0 win away to Sunderland.

"I hope to be 100% ready for the West Ham game," Fer told QPR's official website."I have already been doing some training with the first team, and I hope to be training fully with the group from Monday.

"West Ham is my target and I hope to be involved. I don't want to say how many minutes I will be able to play if I am involved, but I will try to do everything I can until I can't anymore. With just five games to go, I just want to throw everything into these games.

"It has been really frustrating to watch from the sidelines. We have played really well but only picked up four points in the games I have missed. You really want to be able to help the team, so it's been hard."

Fer's potential return would boost QPR in their relegation fight as Chris Ramsey's side sit two points adrift of safety in 19th.
