Joey Barton says that Queens Park Rangers and the supporters have "become one" following the side's 3-0 win over Swansea City last night.

Queens Park Rangers captain Joey Barton has rekindled his relationship with the club's supporters after finding the net against Swansea City last night.

The former Newcastle United midfielder experienced a difficult period with the West London side's fans when the 29-year-old was booed off the field during Rangers' 3-2 win over Liverpool last month.

It was a different story at Loftus Road last night, when the controversial playmaker scored QPR's first goal in the side's 3-0 win over the Swans.

"The fans and the team have become one," Barton told the club's official website. "That is massive for me individually and for the team.

"You heard them last night - it was 17,000 or 18,000, yet it sounded like 50,000. It is such a great place to play when it is rocking like that - and long may it continue."

QPR currently sit two points above the drop zone with five games left to play.
