Chris Ramsey: 'Queens Park Rangers should have got all three points at Aston Villa'

Queens Park Rangers manager Chris Ramsey bemoans his side's inability to secure a win in Tuesday evening's Premier League clash at Aston Villa, which finished 3-3.

Queens Park Rangers manager Chris Ramsey has expressed his disappointment at not securing all three points against Aston Villa in Tuesday evening's Premier League clash at Villa Park.

Matty Phillips opened the scoring for the visitors in the seventh minute before Villa scored twice through Christian Benteke to lead the R's at the break.

Second-half goals from Clint Hill and Charlie Austin put QPR on the brink of victory before Benteke secured his hat-trick with seven minutes to go and cap off a thrilling 3-3 draw in Birmingham.

Ramsey told BBC Sport after the game: "In the first half we got overrun a bit and caused our own problems. Our technique was poor, they had a lot of chances and we rode our luck.

"The goals we gave away were schoolboy errors. The point was better for them, we would have loved to win the game and get above the line. Based on the performance in the second half we are disappointed not to have got three points."

QPR remain in the Premier League drop zone following the draw, two points behind 17th-placed Hull City.
