Sandy Easdale increases shareholding in Rangers by one million

Sandy Easdale buys another one million shares in Rangers as the power struggle at the Scottish club continues.

The power struggle at Rangers continues following confirmation that Sandy Easdale has purchased another one million shares in the Scottish club.

The businessman, who has faced plenty of criticism from supporters, now owns 6.45% of the club, which gives him voting rights over 26% of the shares.

In a statement to the Stock Exchange, it was revealed that Easdale, who is the chairman of the club's board, bought 1,014,000 shares at 1p each on Friday.

The news comes after caretaker manager Kenny McDowall offered his resignation for personal reasons, but will serve a 12-month notice period.

The club's board have faced heavy criticism from supporters and were targeted during a mass protest at the weekend following news that Mike Ashley is keen to take out security on Ibrox Stadium.
