Ally McCoist not affected by Craig Whyte's SFA investigation

Rangers boss Ally McCoist says that club owner Craig Whyte's investigation by the SFA will not affect the team.

Rangers manager Ally McCoist has insisted that he is not affected by the club's off-field issues.

It was confirmed on Thursday that club owner Craig Whyte was under investigation by the Scottish Football Association over his past business practices.

The 49-year-old admitted that he was disqualified from being a company director after his time at Vital UK.

"My job here is to run a football team and hopefully put a winning team on the park," said McCoist.

"There is no point worrying about things you can't affect or have a bearing on.

"If you start worrying about it, you've got no chance. The players certainly won't worry about that."

The Gers host Dunfermline in the SPL on Saturday.
