Rangers captain takes pay cut

Rangers' skipper Steven Davis reportedly takes a 75% wage cut following the likes of Steven Whittaker, Steven Naismith and Allan McGregor.

Rangers captain Steven Davis has reportedly become the fourth player at Ibrox to agree to a 75% wage cut.

The Gers' administrators have been working alongside the playing staff to come to an agreement over pay cuts in order to help save £1m a month.

Steven Whittaker and Steven Naismith are believed to have taken a significant pay cut yesterday, while reports have emerged claiming that goalkeeper Allan McGregor has also agreed to the wage structure.

It is believed that Davis, the captain of the SPL champions, has joined his teammates in trying to prevent redundancies at the stricken club, according to Sky Sports News.

The administrators, from London firm Duff and Phelps, are believed to be continuing talks with the playing staff at Ibrox today.
