Rangers 'won't use Ibrox as security against Mike Ashley loans'

Rangers reportedly rule out using Ibrox as security against any further loans from Sports Direct, which is run by Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley.

Rangers will reportedly not use their Ibrox Stadium as security against any further loans from Mike Ashley's Sports Direct company.

The Newcastle United owner, who owns a nine percent share of the Scottish club, is said to have offered a £10m loan to Rangers.

However, the loan is believed to have been mortgaged against the ground, as well as Murray Park, which is used as the club's training base.

According to Sky Sports News, following last weekend's mass protest from fans against the board, the club have ruled out using Ibrox as security.

The Rangers Fans Fighting Fund received more than £500,000 with the hope of stopping Ibrox being mortgaged.
