Mark Warburton: 'I'd be lying if I said I was prepared for scrutiny at Rangers'

Mark Warburton admits that he is not fully prepared for the scrutiny that he will be under as Rangers manager.

New Rangers manager Mark Warburton has admitted that he is not fully prepared for the scrutiny that he will be under at the Scottish club.

The 52-year-old was confirmed as the Gers' new boss this afternoon on a three-year contract.

In his first press conference as manager, Warburton told reporters: "Look at the size of the club - the history and the tradition of the club, we're very aware of that so its a challenge for us. It's one we look forward to and relish and hopefully embrace and look to take the club forward.

"I think it's important that everyone asks the right questions, on both sides. Very quickly you realise the scale of the club and what it can achieve and where you want to take it.

"I'd be lying if I said I'm prepared [for the scrutiny]. You have to learn from it, It's important to try to get it right as soon as possible."

David Weir has been installed as Warburton's assistant.
