Reading defender Anton Ferdinand has suffered a setback in his bid to return to full fitness.
Ferdinand has only managed to make two appearances for Reading since joining the club on a free transfer in the summer.
The 29-year-old injured his calf after coming off the bench in the win over Norwich City last weekend, and he will now miss Saturday's clash with Bolton Wanderers.
"Ferdinand is not fit. He's not going to figure, he's got an issue with his calf that was picked up on Saturday," manager Nigel Adkins told reporters. "There's something not quite right with his calf quite clearly."
Reports on Wednesday suggested that Reading had a loan bid for West Bromwich Albion defender Jason Davidson rejected.
