Reading's new owner has laid down his expectations for the coming Championship season, targeting a top-six place in the playoffs.
Narin Niruttinanon's Thai consortium owns 50% of the Royals after reaching an agreement with previous majority shareholder Anton Zingarevich.
The Berkshire-based outfit are currently in Thailand on a pre-season tour and their new owner outlined his ambitions at a press conference in his homeland.
"I may be too optimistic, but I think with the team we have, if they have more time with the manager and play as a team, and we have less injuries, I don't see why we can't aim for playoffs and hopefully have a chance to compete," he said.
"We need to aim high and I really hope we can do well."
Steve Clarke's side finished 19th in the second tier last season.
