Reading's Jay Tabb insists that his team's victory over Everton proves that they can compete in the Premier League.

Reading's Jay Tabb has declared that last weekend's 2-1 victory over Everton will kickstart the Royals' season.

The winger said that the result proves they can compete at the highest level and has restored confidence among the team.

"It's been a long time coming, but the result shows we can compete at this level," he told the Reading Post. "We knew that before, but we weren't getting the wins so I think it can be a turning point.

"You look at the draws we've had; a few of them could have been wins, so it's a game that's going to build confidence.

"Everyone came in happy on Monday and trained well and we now know we're capable of winning games in the Premier League."

Reading are in Premier League action on Saturday when they take on Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium.
