Team News: Reading unchanged from Bolton Wanderers thrashing

Reading stick with the starting XI that thrashed Bolton 7-1 for their trip to Portman Road to face Ipswich, who make one change as Stephen Hunt replaces Luke Hyam.

Nigel Adkins has named an unchanged Reading starting XI from the side that thrashed Bolton Wanderers 7-1 last weekend for their trip to Ipswich Town this afternoon.

Adam Le Fondre was a hat-trick scorer against the Trotters and he retains his place up front alongside Pavel Pogrebnyak, while reported Arsenal target Alex McCarthy is maintained in goal.

Wayne Bridge, Sean Morrison, Hal Robson-Kanu, Mikele Leigertwood, Jason Roberts and Jem Karacan remain on the treatment table and Danny Guthrie has failed to recover from a calf injury in time to feature.

Ipswich make just the one alteration, which comes in midfield as Luke Hyam makes way for Stephen Hunt on the left wing after suffering a deep cut to the knee in the defeat to Millwall last weekend.

The Tractor Boys have lost three consecutive Championship matches, but could climb to within two points of the playoff places with victory over Reading, who are currently sixth in the table.

Ipswich: Gerken; Chambers, Berra, Smith, Cresswell; Edwards, Skuse, Tunnicliffe, Hunt; Murphy, McGoldrick
Subs: Loach, Mings, Tabb, Anderson, Wordsworth, Nouble, Taylor

Reading: McCarthy; Gunter, Obita, Pearce, Gorkss; Williams, Akpan, McCleary, McAnuff; Pogrebnyak, Le Fondre
Subs: Federici, Cummings, Kelly, Hector, J Taylor, Blackman, Drenthe
