Carlo Ancelotti hails Real Madrid "courage"

Carlo Ancelotti believes that Real Madrid showed "courage" to beat Galatasaray.

Carlo Ancelotti believes that Real Madrid showed "courage and personality" to beat Galatasaray tonight and qualify for the last 16 of the Champions League.

Los Blancos were reduced to 10 men when Sergio Ramos received a red card for pulling back Umut Bulut.

However, Ancelotti's side took the lead with a Gareth Bale free kick, and despite conceding an equaliser before half time, they dominated the second half.

"The team played very well especially when we were one man down in the second half. We played with courage and personality," Ancelotti told reporters.

"It's true that the first half wasn't very good but we dominated and the game changed after Ramos's red card.

"We need to continue like this and stay consistent. I can't complain, I'm very happy."

Madrid are top of Group B with 13 points, seven ahead of Juventus.
