Sports Mole looks at how Real Madrid could line up in the second leg of their Champions League last 16 tie against city rivals Atletico Madrid on Wednesday.

The return of Jude Bellingham is set to be the only change to the Real Madrid XI when they face rivals Atletico Madrid in the second leg of their Champions League last 16 tie on Wednesday.

Bellingham missed the first leg through suspension, but he was back in a very strong Real side that beat Rayo Vallecano unconvincingly on Sunday, and there is no doubt he will retake his place back in the Champions League XI.

The unfortunate man who is likely to miss out will be last week's match-winner Brahim Diaz, who scored late on to hand Los Blancos the advantage in this second leg, but with Rodrygo, Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior all undroppable, he looks set to drop to the bench.

Rodrygo scored the opening goal in the first leg, and that took him to 25 UCL goals before the age of 25 - making him just the fifth player ever to accomplish this feat, alongside Mbappe, Erling Haaland, Lionel Messi and Raul.

While Carlo Ancelotti did pick a strong XI on Sunday, there was still room for some rotation, as Federico Valverde was only included on the bench after recently returning from a minor setback.

French duo Eduardo Camavinga and Ferland Mendy were also only named as substitutes at the Bernabeu on Sunday, while Thibaut Courtois was left out entirely, with Andriy Lunin give a rare chance between the sticks instead.

Antonio Rudiger's absence was put down to mild illness, but the German defender is expected to be back to partner Raul Asencio in the heart of the visitor's backline, which is currently missing both Eder Militao and Dani Carvajal.

David Alaba is back at full fitness now though, after three straight league starts, but it is unlikely he will be thrown in from the start in a game of this magnitude after such a lengthy layoff.

In midfield, Dani Ceballos is out injured, but luckily for Ancelotti, he can still call upon 39-year-old Luka Modric, who was excellent off the bench last week, and was also one of Real's best players in the Rayo win, but even the Croatian great may be left on the bench for this one, with Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni set to start.

Real Madrid possible starting lineup:
Courtois; Valverde, Asencio, Rudiger, Mendy; Tchouameni, Camavinga; Rodrygo, Bellingham, Vini Jr; Mbappe
