Carlo Ancelotti: 'Jese Rodriguez needs time'

Jese Rodriguez will take time to return to his best form, insists Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has insisted that Jese Rodriguez must be given time to return to his best form.

The Spaniard made his long-awaited return from a serious knee injury on Tuesday – netting his side's fifth in their 5-0 win over Cornella in the Copa del Rey.

"He must get used to playing again, but he's showing a good attitude. The team put on a serious performance and won the game well," he told reporters after the match.

"We showed good quality in the match and got what we were looking for. Naturally he looks like a player who's been out a long time.

"Jese can play in any position. He prefers to play on the left wing but can play well enough as a centre-forward."

Jese had been out of action since March.
