Luis Suarez's record vs. Real Madrid

Sports Mole looks at how Barcelona striker Luis Suarez has performed against this weekend's opponents Real Madrid during his career.

Barcelona have one final major hurdle to overcome on their quest to go an entire La Liga campaign unbeaten, as they face Real Madrid at Camp Nou this weekend.

Having wrapped up the title with time to spare last time out, Ernesto Valverde's men have four more games between now and the end of the season.

With their Champions League hopes over and the Copa del Rey already secured, Valverde is expected to go with his strongest possible XI on Sunday evening, meaning that we can expect to see Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi working in tandem.

Ahead of the final El Clasico showdown of the 2017-18 season, Sports Mole looks at how Suarez has fared against Madrid in the past.

Suarez vs. Real Madrid

Suarez will no doubt be keen to forget his first encounter with Los Blancos, which ended in a 4-0 loss for former club Ajax during a 2010-11 Champions League group match.

The Uruguayan striker has had far better success since arriving in Spain nearly four years ago, though, with five goals in nine games against Madrid in all competitions.

One of those proved to be a key opener in Barca's 3-0 triumph in the reverse fixture earlier this season - his third goal at the Bernabeu in five visits.

At Camp Nou, Suarez has just the two goals in this world-renowned match, scoring in a 1-1 draw last season and the winner in a 2-1 victory the year before.
