Half-Time Report: Cristiano Ronaldo heads Real Madrid in front against Levante

Cristiano Ronaldo's 38th goal of the season gives Real Madrid a narrow half-time lead over Levante, as they look to move three points clear at the top of La Liga.

Cristiano Ronaldo's 38th goal of the season has given Real Madrid a narrow half-time lead over Levante, as they look to move three points clear at the top of La Liga.

The hosts went on the front foot straight away at the Bernabeu this evening and were almost in front inside five minutes when Daniel Carvajal's cross-cum-shot was diverted just over his own crossbar by Juanfran.

Ronaldo broke the deadlock soon after by rising highest to head Angel di Maria's corner into the net.

Midway through the half Karim Benzema had a good chance to double Los Blancos's lead, but he was denied by Keylor Navas in the Levante goal.

French striker Benzema again came close just before the interval when he headed a Ronaldo cross against the woodwork.
