Report: Rafael Benitez wants full control at Real Madrid

A report claims that Rafael Benitez wants full control of matters at Real Madrid should he be handed the managerial position.

Rafael Benitez has reportedly demanded full control of matters at Real Madrid if, as expected, he takes charge of the Spanish side later this week.

The Napoli boss is the firm favourite to replace Carlo Ancelotti at the Bernabeu and confirmation is expected to arrive before the weekend.

According to AS, Benitez wants full control of signings in Madrid and has already identified the areas that need to be improved this summer.

It is understood that the Spaniard also wants to restructure Real Madrid's youth team, which has struggled over the last couple of years.

Benitez, who has also been linked with a return to the Premier League, will hold a press conference in Naples on Thursday.
