Cristiano Ronaldo: 'Real Madrid have to win La Liga'

Real Madrid attacker Cristiano Ronaldo admits that he is desperate to help Los Blancos win their first La Liga title since 2012.

Cristiano Ronaldo has said that Real Madrid are determined to lift La Liga this season.

The Madrid giants are 32-time winners of the Spanish title, but have not triumphed since 2012, which remains Ronaldo's only league crown in Spain.

Having watched Barcelona and Atletico Madrid win the title in recent seasons, Ronaldo has insisted that his club are desperate to regain the crown this term.

"A club of Real Madrid's stature can't go so long without winning La Liga," Ronaldo told Marca. "It is a competition we must be more consistent in and we are confident we can win it."

Real Madrid, who will travel to Real Betis in the league on Saturday night, are currently second in La Liga - level on points (15) with leaders Atletico Madrid and two ahead of Barcelona.
