Zinedine Zidane: 'I plan to keep Real Madrid squad together this summer'

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane insists that he does not want to see any departures from his squad ahead of the new La Liga season.

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has insisted that he wants to keep his current squad together despite rumours of a potential exit for frontman Gareth Bale.

Zidane's charges produced a memorable showing last term as Madrid won both the La Liga title and the Champions League during their coach's first full season in charge at the Santiago Bernabeu.

"I'm relaxed and I'm delighted with the squad. We have the best, we won and we want to do the same again," Zidane told reporters.

"The squad is very good and I don't want changes. It's only Cristiano [Ronaldo] who isn't with us [on pre-season] but we know that it's going to be a difficult year. Everyone will want to win and that's more beautiful for us."

Madrid get their La Liga campaign back underway when they face Deportivo de La Coruna on August 20.
