Loren: 'Carlos Vela is happy at Real Sociedad'

Real Sociedad sporting director Loren insists that Carlos Vela is "happy" at his current club, despite speculation that the Mexican wants to leave San Sebastian.

Real Sociedad sporting director Loren is confident that Carlos Vela will remain with the Basque club in January.

The Mexican international hit 21 goals in 52 games for Sociedad during the 2013-14 season and also managed double figures last season despite a number of injury problems.

The forward has only scored twice in the league this season, however, and it is understood that he is considering a move away from Sociedad in the January transfer window.

Loren, however, has insisted that the 26-year-old 'is happy' with life at San Sebastian.

"There's no problem with Vela. He's happy here and the better the team is, the happier he'll be. Transfers are a possibility in football, but we've got no fear with him," Loren told Marca. "I fear when players aren't happy and I believe that he is."

Vela joined Sociedad from Arsenal in 2012 on a permanent deal following a loan spell with the Spanish club.
