John O'Shea passed fit Euro 2012

Republic of Ireland defender John O'Shea passed fit for Euro 2012.

Sunderland defender John O'Shea has been passed fit to take part in Euro 2012 for Republic of Ireland this summer.

The 31-year-old aggravated a calf injury in Sunday's 1-0 defeat to Manchester United, but scans have revealed that he has suffered no lasting damage.

O'Shea is expected to be a key member of Giovanni Trapattoni's squad for the European Championships, which begins next month.

He has 75 international appearances to his name.
