The Roma striker reached the milestone during his side's 3-1 home win against Genoa, becoming the joint-second top scorer of all time in the Italian top flight in the process.

"225 goals, another great target reached by a great champion – well done Francesco! Ciao Ale," Del Piero wrote on his Twitter account.
