Miralem Pjanic: 'Roma want Serie A title for Francesco Totti'

Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic admits that the team want to win the Serie A title for captain Francesco Totti as he heads into the final year of his contract.

Miralem Pjanic has revealed that Roma are keen to win the Serie A title this season for teammate Francesco Totti.

The 38-year-old striker, who made his debut for the Italian side in 1993, is heading into the final season of his contract.

The midfielder told Fox Australia: "We hope to win the title to give it to Totti. When he's on the pitch, everything is easier.

"I feel good and I'm happy, because Roma are doing everything to build an even stronger team than last year. Juve won the title last year because they were able to deal with the moments of pressure better than we were. This year we are motivated to try to conquer it."

Totti has won the Serie A title just once during his career in 2001, finishing as runner-up eight times.
