Saint-Etienne have completed the signing of Caen midfielder Romain Hamouma.
The 25-year-old has signed a four-year deal, believed to be worth around £3.1m, with Les Verts.
Hamouma said that Saint-Etienne was his first choice after speaking to manager Christophe Galtier.
"I absolutely wanted to come to Saint-Etienne. This club was my first choice," said Hamouma. "My meetings with the president [Roland Romeyer] and Christophe Galtier convinced me.
"We have a great team here and we have what it takes to fight it out at the top of the table. I feel really good here.
"The history of the club is very important and Saint-Etienne lives and breathes football. The fans are awesome. It was an easy decision!"
Hamouma, who is of Algerian descent, is holding out to play for France one day.
