Owen Coyle open to Scotland job but yet to be contacted by SFA

Former Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle reiterates that he is open to becoming the new Scotland boss but confirms that he has had no contact from the SFA.

Former Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle has insisted that he is open to becoming the new Scotland head coach but has not been contacted by the Scottish Football Association.

The 46-year-old has been out of work for the last two months after getting sacked from his post at the Reebok Stadium but has claimed that he is ready to return to management.

"Whoever's lucky enough to fulfil that opportunity [at Scotland] will have a good group of players and it's a good job for someone," Coyle told Sky Sports News.

"If anybody thinks I'm worthy of speaking to then of course I'm always receptive of that, I always have been and that's the way I'll continue."

The SFA dismissed Craig Levein from the national job following a disappointing 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign.
