Scotland striker Chris Martin has claimed that Derby County teammate Johnny Russell belongs at international level.
Martin came on as a second-half substitute for Friday night's Euro 2016 qualifier against the Republic of Ireland, while Russell watched from the bench.
However, Martin hopes that Russell will get a chance to impress in the friendly against England tonight.
"He belongs at this level," Martin told the Dundee Evening Telegraph. "He has been waiting a long time. Many people have asked me about it and I'm sure they have asked him, too.
"But the thing I say is you just have to look at his form for Derby. He has been doing very well in the Championship. He has taken to this level very well, you can see that in training.
"It would be great for him to get his chance against England."
Russell is yet to win his first cap for Scotland.
