Jose Fonte eager for quick Southampton response

Southampton defender Jose Fonte calls on his teammates to get back to winning ways as soon as possible following their defeat to Manchester United.

Jose Fonte has urged his Southampton teammates to recover quickly from their defeat at home to Manchester United.

The Saints were beaten for a third consecutive time in the Premier League on Monday as two goals from Robin van Persie earned United a 2-1 win.

Fonte, whose error led to Van Persie's first goal, now wants his side to get back to winning ways when they make the trip to strugglers Burnley on Saturday.

"I'm disappointed and frustrated, but we need to pick ourselves up because we have another game on Saturday which we need to get some points [from]," he told the club's official website. "With a win and a good performance, we can put everything behind us and move on."

Fonte has made 18 appearances in all competitions for Southampton so far this season.
