Preview: Southampton vs. Crystal Palace

Sports Mole previews Southampton's Premier League home clash against Crystal Palace this weekend.

Ending Liverpool's unbeaten run and clinching a place in the fourth round of the Capital One Cup are Southampton's latest triumphs ahead of this weekend's Premier League clash against Crystal Palace.

Mauricio Pochettino's side currently sit seventh in the league table following their 1-0 victory over Liverpool at Anfield last weekend.

Despite their recent run of form, the Saints have not yet scored a goal from open play, while Palace have gone three hours without being able to find the back of the net.

Ian Holloway's side have only secured one win out of their five Premier League fixtures, with their latest defeat coming against Swansea City.

While there have been reports that Southampton are considering selling Rickie Lambert in January, the striker is likely to start with Pablo Osvaldo up front, while Gaston Ramirez could feature following his strike in midweek.

Holloway could opt for Marouane Chamakh and Cameron Jerome to lead the attack at St Mary's on Saturday.
