Manager Mauricio Pochettino is full of praise for his Tottenham Hotspur players after they come from behind to beat PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has heaped praise on his side after a dramatic 2-1 victory over PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League.

Spurs conceded a goal after just 63 seconds, but two late efforts from Harry Kane earned the North London outfit a result which keeps their hopes of progression to the last 16 alive.

The Premier League side were competing in their fourth match in nine days, and Pochettino was quick to talk about the "character" of his players after the triumph at Wembley Stadium.

At a press conference, the Argentine told reporters: "I'm so pleased. The effort after what was our fourth game in nine days. I am so pleased with the effort, because to concede again an early goal, we cannot score. Their keeper was fantastic and again a lack of being clinical in front of goal.

"It was in the end the team fighting and making a fantastic effort, but in the end I think we found the reward and the team never gave up and showed big character and personality.

"I'm so pleased with everything, not only the effort of the performance, I think how we played in the opposite half, trying to be patient and not taking rash decisions and not make a mistake. Yes, the team played well. I am so pleased."

Spurs realistically need to defeat Inter Milan in their next game to remain in the hunt for second place in the group.
