Half-Time Report: Strong-looking Tottenham Hotspur side tamed by Qarabag FK

Qarabag FK and Tottenham Hotspur head into half time locked at 0-0 following a bland opening 45 minutes at the Azersun Arena in Baku.

Tottenham Hotspur have been unable to find a way past Qarabag FK in a goalless opening 45 minutes in Baku.

The visitors struggled to create any real openings throughout the half, but the early signs were promising as Ryan Mason powered in an effort straight at Ibrahim Sehic.

Mauricio Pochettino made the brave choice to field all three of his in-form attacking trio this evening, despite a huge London derby showdown with Chelsea at the weekend, yet neither Harry Kane, Christian Eriksen nor Son Heung-min could make the telling difference.

Son thought that he was clean through when being picked out by Mason, only for the offside flag to correctly be raised and thus denying him a shot at goal.

Dele Alli did remain onside after being found by Kieran Trippier on the right just moments later, though his attempt was fired well wide, before Kane saw a shot of his own deflect wide of the target.

The only other real attacking chance fell to Dani Quintana, who tested Hugo Lloris at the end of a strong Qarabag counter after Spurs lost the ball at a short corner up the other end of the pitch.
