Tottenham Hotspur's Michael Dawson is taken to hospital with suspected ruptured ankle ligaments after being stretchered off during his side's FA Cup replay with Stevenage.

Tottenham Hotspur's Michael Dawson has been taken to hospital with suspected ruptured ankle ligaments.

The defender was stretchered off after only seven minutes of his side's FA Cup fifth-round replay against Stevenage at White Hart Lane when he fell awkwardly while challenging for the ball.

Medical staff treated the player for a number of minutes before they removed him from the field.

Dawson is expected to undergo further tests before the true extent of the injury is known.
