Mauricio Pochettino says that he will rotate his squad for Wednesday's meeting with Rochdale ahead of key games against Huddersfield Town and Juventus.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that he intends to continue with his rotation policy for Wednesday night's FA Cup fifth-round replay against Rochdale.

The Lilywhites were held to a 2-2 draw in the original tie at Spotland nine days ago to add an unwanted extra fixture to their schedule, which also proved to be the case in the previous round.

Pochettino has an eye on crucial upcoming fixtures against Huddersfield Town in the Premier League and Juventus in the Champions League, however, meaning a chance for some of Tottenham's fringe players to impress in midweek.

"We are going to rotate some players to give [them] the possibility to play," he told reporters at his pre-match presser. "They are in a good level and then we are going to play again on Saturday - a short period to recover for a Premier League game - and then the Champions League.

"We are very busy with the fixtures but that is why we need all involved, to be fit and to be part of the situation. In the games they have the possibility to show their quality."

Pochettino also revealed that Jan Vertonghen will miss out against Rochdale due to injury, while Toby Alderweireld will be assessed.
