Half-Time Report: MLS All-Stars lead Tottenham Hotspur at the break

Harry Kane gives Tottenham Hotspur hope as he pulls a goal back before half time against the MLS All-Stars.

Tottenham Hotspur are 2-1 down at half time of their pre-season friendly against an MLS All-Star team in Denver.

The All-Stars had the first chance of the game as a long ball forward saw Clint Dempsey get in behind the Spurs defence before he cut the ball back for Graham Zusi, who placed an effort just wide.

Harry Kane went close at the other end as he tried to divert Moussa Dembele's deflected shot into the net, but Nick Rimando kept it out, before he stabbed an instinctive effort wide in the six-yard box following Eric Dier's knock-down.

However, he was made to pay for that miss as Nacer Chadli was penalised for handball in the penalty box and Kaka confidently struck the ball into the bottom corner.

Kane wasted another chance to score just 60 seconds later as he shot straight at Rimando from close range, but MLS All-Stars quickly doubled their lead.

A cross from the right found Kaka at the back post and his cross was prodded in by David Villa from a few yards out.

Spurs responded before half time as Kane powered a shot into the top corner from the edge of the box, but the North London side still trail by one as they head into the break.
