Manchester City team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Tottenham Hotspur

Sports Mole rounds up all of Manchester City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's Premier League fixture with Tottenham Hotspur.

Manchester City start the defence of their Premier League title with a mouth-watering trip to face Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday afternoon.

While the two clubs are not expected to be direct rivals during the upcoming campaign, there is considerable friction due to City's pursuit of Harry Kane.

At a time when that particular transfer saga threatens to be a distraction, Pep Guardiola must focus on trying to get City's season off to a perfect start.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the visit to North London.

Phil Foden

Status: Out
Type of injury: Foot
Possible return date: September 11 (vs. Leicester City)

Despite missing the Euro 2020 final with what was described as a minor foot problem, Foden has not been able to feature during pre-season. Guardiola has suggested that the playmaker remains a few weeks away from being in contention.

Kevin De Bruyne

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: August 28 (vs. Arsenal)

Like Foden, De Bruyne has been hindered by injury in recent weeks and months, and it has left the Belgium international out of Guardiola's thinking for the weekend. However, the Spaniard has hinted that the midfielder could return to action faster than his creative teammate.

CITY'S SUSPENSION LIST

City have no suspension issues ahead of this fixture.
